The Light Heart Lifting Cream is formulated as a soft, stable cream — not a liquid. If your Step 1 feels watery or runny, don't worry. Here are the three most common causes and how to fix each one.
What the correct consistency should look like
Light Heart Step 1 is a cysteamine-based lifting cream designed to have a controlled, creamy texture. It should apply smoothly from root to tip on the lash shield without dripping, running, or migrating toward the eye. If your product feels watery or thin, something has affected the emulsion — and it's almost always fixable.
Cause 1 — Separation or settling in the bottle
Because Light Heart uses airless pump bottles to prevent oxidation, the product shouldn't separate easily. However, if the bottle was exposed to extreme heat during shipping or storage, the emulsion can temporarily break down and become liquidy.
The fix:
- Cap the bottle tightly and shake vigorously for 30 seconds
- Pump out the first 1–2 drops onto a clean glue stone or paper surface to clear any separated liquid from the nozzle
- Dispense a fresh dot — it should come out as a stable, non-runny cream
Cause 2 — Temperature fluctuations
Cysteamine-based emulsions are sensitive to room temperature. If your workspace or storage area is too warm, the cream base will thin out and lose its viscosity.
The fix:
- Store your bottles in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources
- If your workspace is running warm, place the bottle in a cool room or a beauty fridge for 15–20 minutes before your service to restore its cream texture
Cause 3 — Expiration or product compromise
If your Step 1 remains completely runny even after cooling and shaking, the cream base may have been compromised. This can happen if the product has expired or was stored in conditions that degraded the formula over time.
